Day Workshop - Hardanger with Heide Jenkins

Requirements List

You can buy fabrics from Heide but you are welcome to bring your own id you have them.

Hardanger fabrix, approx. 25 cm x 30 cm (this is the double threaded weave)   OR

Evenweave linen, approx 22 or 24 threads per inch or finer if you wish

Perle Cotton thread No. 5 AND No. 8 or their equivalent, see below

Blunt tapestry needles No. 20 or 22

Small frame (round one will do, approx. 16 cm across)

Small SHARP pointed scissors (curved nail scissors are most useful)

Notebook and pencil

You can bring other fabrics with a countable thread and fairly loose weave but the

important thing is: you need TWO KINDS OF THREADS for each piece:

one a little THICKER than the threads of the chosen fabric, the other one a little THINER.

Traditionly Hardanger is worker in white on white or in naturals, greys and yellows on white or

toning fabrics but you might feel more adventurous.   Threads with a sheen or gloss to them

pare particularly successful.
