Day Workshop Millefiore Beads with Pat Trott

Requirements List
Fimo modelling compound in at least four contrasting colours - i.e. 1 or 2 light, 1 or 2 medium, 1 or 2 dark (not glittered or textured Fimo).
A glass or metal sheet to roll out on.
2 or 3 Oblong foil dishes (Chinese.take-away style).
A metal pastry slice/cake server (without pattern or holes).
A small rolling pin or similar.
Wet wipes and cling film.
A cutting blade will also be needed, which I will bring for sale on the day.
If you have original Fimo (Fimo Classic) it is ESSENTIAL to manipulate the Fimo VERY THOROUGHLY before attempting to make beads, otherwise it will crumble and break up. this needs to be done before arrival as follows:-
Cut each whole 2" square block into 8 pieces and then soften each eighth as follows:-
Squeeze into a square shape 30 times.
Roll between your hands into a sausage shape, fo;d into two, roll and fold etc. 10 times.
Roll into a ball 30 times.
By this time it should be soft and pliable. Wrap each ball in cling film.
This is quite hard work and men have the warmth and strenght to do this more easily than women, so it might help to get one to assist you.
The conditioning can be done at any time during the week leading up to the class and the wrapped balls can be kept in a polythene bag.
DO NOT LEAVE THIS UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE THE CLASS.
This is not so essential with Fimo soft as it takes a lot less time but it would be helpful to have this done before you arrive. However it could be done on the day.
